NRS 453 - Community Health Nursing Lab
Description
Hours: Nine hours lab per week Prerequisite: Admission to the BSN program or the ADN or RN to BSN program Corequisite: NRS 452 Description: Students will work with a nurse in a community setting to develop an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of community/public health nurses. Guided work in the community setting will aid the student in developing community/public health nursing competencies based on knowledge of nursing; social and behavioral; and public health sciences. Students will develop interventions aimed at reducing health disparities by focusing on social determinants of health and structural barriers to health such as racism, genderism, and homophobia using relevant evidence-based resources.
