Description: Hours: Two hours lecture and two hours activity per week Prerequisite: ECS 101, ECS 150, ECS 221, ECS 330, ECS 335 Corequisite: ECS 350 and ECS 355 Description: Prepares early learning professionals with skills to teach and work in bilingual/multilingual early learning programs. The course responds to a growing need for teachers and early learning professionals to develop skills and knowledge to implement developmentally, culturally and linguistically responsive practices. The focus is on current applied research that illuminates powerful practices to support early learning and development for young dual language learners including children with special rights. Examination of programs, approaches and classroom environments for young dual language learners. Ten hours of field observations in dual language programs required.
