Description
Hours: Three hours lecture/discussion per week Prerequisite: Admission to Education Specialist Teaching Credential program Description: Devoted to supporting and fostering positive behavioral supports, social membership, and quality of life for students with special needs. Specifically, will cover: the functional assessment of behavior, communication styles, social skills models, and their impact on learning; laws, regulations, and ethical standards in the assessment and implementation of student behavior plans; strategies for promoting pro-social and self-regulatory behaviors in students; designing and implementing positive behavioral support plans; designing and implementing pro-social skills interventions; and considerations for culturally- and linguistically-responsive positive behavior support.
