Description: Reviews how holistic school systems impact the role of the professional school counselor. Utilizing ecological systems modeling and social justice theory, introduces a theoretical and practical framework for providing school counseling services. Cultural, community, school, family, and individual domains that influence school climate factors are explored. Emphasis is placed on the development and implementation of culturally sustaining pedagogy to enhance social justice within a contemporary multicultural school environment.
