Description: Hours: Variable hours field of studies per week
Prerequisite: Admission to the Education Specialist Teaching Credential Program
Description: This is the first of a two part field experience course that provides students with the opportunity to gradually assume the responsibilities of a special education teacher in a public school including teaching, assessing students, IEP development, collaborating with parents, teachers and special services personnel. Equivalent to 8 weeks full time student teaching. Participatory observation and teaching in selected schools under the supervision of classroom teacher who is your Residency Mentor Teacher, with the support of your Residency Liaison.
