Description: Focus on major theories relating to literacies in the home and community contexts, including sociocultural theory, multiliteracies, funds of knowledge and community cultural wealth. Major emphasis on understanding literacies of children coming from diverse backgrounds including socioeconomic status. Critical thinking, engaging in research, and scholarly writing will be emphasized throughout the course.
