Description: Provides instruction in research and writing for purpose of synthesizing evidence and opinion about a contemporary global challenge, including its background, causes, effects, and possible solutions. Students will learn how to find and evaluate sources, formulate a literature review, and compose a research paper, improved by feedback and revision, that includes an advocacy section based on the findings. Students must earn a C- or better to fulfill the Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement (GWAR).
