Notes
- This special topics course will explore the most recent research as well as the scientific theory and technology behind the current paleogenomics revolution. We will also discuss recent paleogenomic studies of non-human animals, plants, and pathogens (e.g., dogs, horses, cave bears, maize, bubonic plague, etc.) which provide examples of the ways in which paleogenomics can be used to examine extinction, domestication, and disease evolution and spread. There are no required textbooks an no exams, emphasis will be placed on interpretation of the scientific and popular paleogenomics literature, group or individual presentations, and short writing assignments.
