Notes

  • This course will explore how digital advertising (e.g., on web browsers and phones) is bought and sold. We will focus on programmatic advertising, which is the sale of digital advertising through automated real-time bidding markets for advertising spots. Students will gain an understanding of how programmatic advertising works, the role it plays in society, why it is disruptive to current advertising practices, the economic principles driving its success, the technology that makes it possible, and the basics of running a programmatic advertising campaign.
