Hours: Three lecture hours per week Recommended: Junior Standing Description: The Vikings are often misrepresented in modern portrayals as extremely violent, conducting fierce and brutal raids. However, their lives were full of complex belief systems, agricultural practices, skilled craftsmanship, and far reaching exploration. This course examines the lifeways of the Vikings through archaeological and historical evidence to understand the intricacies and complexities of this once thriving seafaring society.
