Description

Hours: Three hours lecture per week Prerequisite: PSY 301 or Consent of Instructor Description: Introduces students to the theory, methods, and applications of stress and coping research in psychology, while offering students insight into understanding and managing their own experiences of stress.  Students will explore why individuals experience stress in unique ways, the physiological stress response and its relationship to health outcomes, and a range of coping techniques and associated empirical findings.  This is a service learning course.  In this context, students learn though partnership with community organizations and active reflection on their experience.
