Hours: Three hours lecture per week Description: Explores the development of dance in various parts of the world, from early origins in antiquity through the 18th century. Considers the ritual, educational, and communicative aspects of dance with special attention to the historical, cultural, and political contexts of major dance movements, artists, and conventions. Requires attending, or participating in, a dance performance
