Description

Hours: Three hours laboratory per week Prerequisite: ANTH 104 concurrently or previously completed Description: Provides a hands-on supplement to Introduction to Bioanthropology. Laboratory exercises introduce the concepts, methods of inquiry, and scientific explanations for biological evolution and their application to the human species, with an emphasis on the processes of natural selection. Topics may include genetics, evolutionary theory, human variation and biocultural adaptations, comparative primate anatomy and behavior, and the fossil evidence for human evolution. The scientific method serves as foundation of the course. The laboratory course may be taken concurrently with ANTH 104, or in a subsequent semester. Lab split from ANTH 104 effective F17
