Hours: Three hours lecture per week Prerequisite: Junior Standing and successful completion of Golden Four GE Areas (A1, A2, A3, B4) Description: An exploration of visual and material culture by artists from diverse communities of the United States with particular focus on significant figures and regions. Modern and contemporary arts will be addressed in regard to issues of belonging, politics of identity, cultural representation, and the complex effects of political and economic networks and markets.
