Description
Hours: Three hours lecture a week Prerequisite: Junior Standing and successful completion of Golden Four GE Areas (A1, A2, A3, B4) Description: The Beach is an interdisciplinary course that explores the sociocultural importance of sandy beaches in Southern California and analyzes the interaction of natural and human systems in the coastal zone. This course explores the physical and biological aspects of California¿s beaches, examines anthropogenic stressors on the ecosystem, integrates diverse perspectives on California¿s beach culture and society, and focuses issues pertaining to coastal development and sustainability.
