Description

Hours: Three hours lecture per week Prerequisite: Junior Standing and successful completion of Golden Four GE Areas (A1, A2, A3, B4) Description: Explores the origins and diversity of Native American cultures and societies in California from antiquity to today. Topics include cultural continuity and change, land-use patterns, subsistence and technology, political and economic systems, religion and art, and how people related to their specific regional environments. Also examines the impacts of European and Euro-American colonization and contemporary issues of concern to Native American communities.
