Description
Hours: Three hours seminar per week Prerequisite: ANTH 102 Explores the diversity of peoples and cultures of Latin America and the Caribbean with emphasis on indigenous communities and their relationship with the environment. Focuses on indigenous peoples pre-contact and the subsequent impact of colonization, cultural and regional diversity, patterns of subsistence and social organizations, reliance on natural resources, and conflicts between indigenous rights and global interests.
