Hours: Three hours lecture per week Description: Examines the connections and parallels between two civilizations along the Pacific Rim through the lens of popular culture in the modern era. Topics covered include youth culture, countercultures and subcultures, war and reconstruction, mass media, and cultural stereotypes.
