Hours: Three hours lecture per week A study of the dynamics of the family as a social system, with emphasis on recent research regarding processes of family change, dissolution, disorganization and reorganization. Traces the historical development of the modern family; role expectations of husbands, wives, parents and children; examines family diversity with respect to ethnicity/race, sexuality, and income.
