Hours: Three hours lecture per week Prerequisite: SOC 100, SOC 201, and SOC 202 (SOC 201 and/or SOC 202 may be taken concurrently) Description: Analyzes work and economy from sociological perspective, paying special attention to implications of economic phenomena on various arenas of social life. Examines range of theoretical perspectives on work and economy, and introduces students to empirical research on topics such as work, jobs, organizations, gender, households, consumption, and other economically-relevant phenomena.
