Hours: Three hours lecture per week Prerequisite: Junior Standing and successful completion of Golden Four GE Areas (A1, A2, A3, B4) Description: Examines theatre and performance in relation to historical, social, and political influences in the Americas, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Asia, South Asia, and Oceania, primarily beginning in the 18th century. Explores plays, images, or historical accounts of formal productions and performances, as well as other types of performance, storytelling, or representation, such as protests, ceremonies, or political debates.
