This course provides an in-depth examination of social work practice within the context of contemporary social policies. Students will explore the history, development, and implementation of policies that affect vulnerable populations, focusing on areas such as poverty, criminal justice, health care, and housing. The seminar will emphasize the role of social workers in shaping, advocating for, and responding to policies that impact communities. Through case studies, readings, and critical discussions, students will analyze the relationship between social work and social justice, considering both local and global contexts.
