This seminar in sociology will cover the topic of Latinx/é Sociology. Latinx/é sociology analyzes social formations and structural inequalities central to the lives of Latinx/é in varied social locations. This seminar will immerse you in the discussions and knowledge of the Latinx/é in U.S. society and abroad. We will share our personal narratives, autoethnography, and testimonios to discuss topics in this sociology sub-field such as: self-identity; colorism; machismo; immigration; linguistic bias; and mental/physical health.
