Description

Hours: Three hours lecture per week Examines the structure, values, and behavior patterns of the contemporary African American family as influenced by African culture and kinship systems and the institution of slavery in association with other factors. The orientation to African American family life will emphasize its strengths, weaknesses, adaptations, strong kinship bonds, and family roles.
