ART 351 - The Baroque Eye

Description

Hours: Three hours lecture per week Prerequisite: Junior Standing and successful completion of Golden Four GE Areas (A1, A2, A3, B4) Description: An exploration of the history of visual art and culture during the Baroque through early Romantic periods from the seventeenth into the early nineteenth centuries. This course investigates the complex mixture of visual representation, ideology, global aesthetics and economics in painting, sculpture, prints and the decorative arts in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
