Description
Hours: Three hours lecture per week Prerequisite: Junior Standing and successful completion of Golden Four GE Areas (A1, A2, A3, B4) Description: Introduction to Islamic art, architecture, and visual and material culture, created globally ca. 600 to the present. Examines the emergence of new artistic forms; investigates major social, political, religious, historical, and cross-cultural influences within Islamic art and architecture; and explores the roles of historical and contemporary Islamic art in the present day.
