ECS 471 - Preschool/Primary Stu Teaching

Description

Hours: Fifteen hours field studies and one hour seminar per week Prerequisite: ECS 320, ECS 325, SPED 345/PSY 345 Corequisite: ECS 468, ECS 470 Description: Student teaching in preschool and early elementary school settings. Students practice assessment and instructional strategies with children ages 3 through 8 years.. Seminar is held in conjunction with the student teaching experience to serve as a forum for integrating research, theory, and recommended practices. Twenty-eight (28) days of student teaching required, typically 2 days per week. Fingerprint clearance is required.

TB Test results must submitted in order to receive permission number for registration. Fingerprinting clearance will be required as soon as placement is arranged.
Consent of the Early Childhood Studies Program Coordinator is Required before obtaining a permission number from the Field Placement office in Madera Hall 2900.
Two full days, weekly, are required for student teaching starting the 2nd week of the semester.
