Description
Hours: Three hours lecture per week Prerequisite: Junior Standing and successful completion of Golden Four GE Areas (A1, A2, A3, B4) Description: Studies Western classical music in history from Antiquity to 1750, with emphasis on the role of music within the social, cultural, and political realities of the time. Includes musical exchange between Western classical music and non-Western traditions, as well as music of the medieval church and the development of vocal and instrumental music in Europe.
