Hours: Three hours lecture per week Description: Examines theatre and performance in relation to historical, social, and political influences in the Americas, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Asia, South Asia, and Oceania, from antiquity through the seventeenth century. Explores plays, images, or historical accounts of formal productions and performances, as well as other types of performance, storytelling, or representation, such as rituals, protests, or celebrations.
