SOC 450: Seminar: Latinx/e Sociology TTh 7:00 - 8:15 Dr. Jose Luis Collazo, Jr. This writing-intensive seminar explores debates in scholarship in particular sociological subfield. The subfield this seminar will cover is Latinx/e Sociology. Latinx/e Sociology is the systematic inquiry into the social lives of Latin Americans in the United States. This course examines the ways in which Latinx/e communities have developed and the social, political, and economic structures that have influenced them. Some of the topics that are covered: colonization; self-identification; Life in Latin America; immigration; and health disparities.
