Hours: Three hours lecture per week Prerequisite: Admission to the Master of Arts in Education, Educational Leadership Emphasis Description: Provides an overview of American higher education with an emphasis on the historical, philosophical, ethical, and cultural foundations of colleges and universities and the role policy played in shaping institutional development and practices. Issues related to students, faculty, curriculum, governance, and finance will be discussed; the culture of the academy will be examined from various perspectives.
