ART 330 - Crit Think in A Visual World
Description
Hours: Three hours lecture per week Prerequisites: Junior Standing and successful completion of Golden Four GE Areas (A1, A2, A3, B4) Description: A critical look at subjective responses and objective reasoning in relation to works of art, architecture, and visual and material culture. Explores the rhetorical power of objects, sites, and images in the structuring of historical and contemporary life. Comparative studies address such topics as religious and cultural symbolism, logos and branding, the creation of private and civic spaces, and intersections of art and science, historically and in the contemporary world.
