Description

Hours: Three hours lecture per week Description: Surveys representative musical compositions throughout world history, from ancient Greek to current American popular music. Topics include classical music; African American musical contributions such as Jazz and Blues; Folk music; and Latin American forms such as Tango, Bossa Nova and Mariachi music. Includes a survey of the elements of music and an emphasis on understanding and enjoyment in listening.
