ECS 471 - Preschool/Primary Stu Teaching
Description
Hours: Fifteen hours field studies and one hour seminar per week Prerequisite: ECS 320, ECS 325, SPED 345/PSY 345 Corequisite: ECS 468, ECS 470 Description: Student teaching in preschool and early elementary school settings. Students practice assessment and instructional strategies with children ages 3 through 8 years.. Seminar is held in conjunction with the student teaching experience to serve as a forum for integrating research, theory, and recommended practices. Twenty-eight (28) days of student teaching required, typically 2 days per week. Fingerprint clearance is required.

Students must receive approval to add course from Program Chair/Coordinator. Students will then need to schedule an appointment with the Field Placement Office in Madera Hall 2900, (805) 437-8525.
Two full days, weekly, are required for student teaching starting the 2nd week of the semester.
