Description
Hours: Six hours lab per week Prerequisite: NRS 200, NRS 201, NRS 303, NRS 304 and NRS 306 Corequisite: NRS 230 Description: This course provides opportunities for application of an integrative, family-centered approach to the care of mothers, infants, and women. Emphasis is placed on normal growth and development, normal and high-risk pregnancies, family dynamics and the promotion of healthy behaviors. Focus is on the care of families during childbearing years, including both normal, and high-risk conditions. Integration of health promotion and growth and development, using the nursing process while applying Neuman Systems Model is explored. Clinical experiences provide the student an opportunity to apply theoretical concepts and implement safe patient centered care to mothers, infants, and women in simulated and selected patient care settings.
