Description: This course provides an integrative, patient-centered approach to the care of patients across the lifespan experiencing cognitive, psychological, and behavioral disorders. Emphasis is placed on working with the interprofessional team to support patients facing life stressors including addiction disorders and history of trauma. Concepts of therapeutic communication, crisis intervention, management of mental health disorders, and coping skills are integrated throughout the course.
