Description: This course provides an overview of assessment in early childhood with an emphasis on culturally and linguistically responsive, developmentally appropriate, and equitable practices. Students will explore a wide range of assessment methods and learn how these tools support the full assessment cycle. The course integrates research-based theory with practical application as students examine issues and barriers of equity and inclusion with different assessment approaches. Students will document and interpret children¿s growth and collaborate with families to deepen understanding of assessment data, and guide children¿s emerging self-assessment skills.
