Description: This interdisciplinary seminar facilitates successful academic and social integration for transfer students at CSU Channel Islands. Using a problem-based learning approach, students examine contemporary issues through multiple disciplinary lenses while developing critical thinking, research, and communication skills. The course emphasizes connecting prior learning experiences to upper-division academic work, understanding academic disciplines and their methodologies, and engaging with the university's mission and identity. Students strengthen their academic skills through analytical writing, research projects, and collaborative problem-solving.
