Traces the cultural, economic, and social repercussions of this important wave of maritime ventures. Besides Portuguese and Spaniards, the course will pay special attention to the plight of the indigenous peoples of Africa, Asia, the Americas, and the Pacific Islands affected by the Iberian expansion.
