Description: Hours: Three hours lecture per week
Prerequisite: CHS 100 or equivalent and successful completion of Golden Four GE Areas (1A, 1B, 1C, 2)
Description: Examines gender and sexuality in terms of historical, cultural and social roles. Students explore structural (societal/institutional) and behavioral elements that contribute to how Chicanas/os are gendered and raced subjects in contemporary U.S. society. Gender roles, issues of health and violence, and the lesbian/gay/bi-sexual/transgender communities are placed within the context of the larger Chicana/o-Latina/o community.
