Description: Discusses the main visual and architectural concepts developed within ancient cultures globally. Using examples from Greek and Roman antiquity as well as the ancient cultures of Mesopotamia, Egypt, Asia, and the Americas, explores the diverse artistic paradigms that emerged in the early stages of human civilization. Places works of art and architecture within their cultural contexts and reflects on the roles of global antiquity in the contemporary world.
