Description: Explores the diversity of the arts, architecture, and visual and material culture of Europe, Central and Western Asia, and North Africa, ca. 200-1300 CE. Examines artworks and objects created within pagan, Jewish, Christian, and Islamic contexts; investigates the major social, political, religious, historical, and cross-cultural influences on the visual arts and architecture during this period; and reflects on the roles of historical artworks in the contemporary world.
