Description: This service learning course provides structured observation and tutoring experiences which reflect a rich array of student diversity in local schools. Emphasis is placed on gaining awareness of connections between discipline knowledge and teaching and learning. This course will help students decide if a career in the elementary teaching profession is the right choice for them. Thirty hours of field experience in elementary schools is required.
