Description: This course presents an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the relationship between education and society. In examining issues of social structure, practices, content, and outcomes in schooling from both a sociological perspective and an applied perspective, students will be exposed to empirical evidence related to educational opportunities and outcomes as well as the practical and professional implications of dealing with these issues in a variety of educational settings.
