Description: This course provides an integrative, family-centered approach to the care of children from infancy through adolescence. Emphasis is placed on growth and development, family dynamics, common pediatric disorders, and the promotion of healthy behaviors in patients and families, with the application of the nursing process. Lab practicum and clinical experiences provide the student an opportunity to apply theoretical concepts and implement safe patient-centered care to children and families (simulated and real situations).
