Description: Introduces improvisational techniques utilizing African-American blues scales, jazz modes, jazz diatonic harmony, Latin music song forms, and musical transcriptions of important blues and jazz artists. Explores spontaneous interaction through collaborative group interplay and solo performances. Students will acquire the skills needed to effectively improvise in a variety of musical styles.
