Course Title: SOC 490-01: Health and Healing in Latiné/x Communities: Stories, Struggles, and Solutions Course Description: Latiné/x communities face significant health challenges shaped by structural inequities, environmental exposures, and systemic discrimination. Yet efforts to address these issues are often met with barriers, including limited access to culturally responsive care. This course explores the intersection of health, identity, and culture in Latiné/x communities, emphasizing the importance of culturally relevant approaches in clinical and community settings. Through storytelling, scholarship, and lived experience, students will examine illness, healing, and the role of practitioners in advancing health equity.
