Description: Focus on content and methods of teaching mathematics and science for children from diverse family, linguistic and cultural backgrounds ages 3-8. Inclusion of inquiries for multilingual and special rights learners. A consistent topic explored throughout the course includes the funds of knowledge of children and families around math (number concept, geometry, probability, and measurement) and science (exploration, inquiry, natural word, scientific knowledge), bringing those ¿knowledges¿ into the classroom with the goal of creating effective curriculum and building on/extending the funds of knowledge.
