Description: This course introduces students to writing center theory, pedagogy, and practice with emphasis on developing oral, multimedia presentation skills requiring strategies for creating arguments in forms that engage various audiences. Students analyze current research in writing center studies while developing practical skills in written, oral, and multimodal communication through hands-on tutoring experience in the Writing & Multiliteracy Center. Students learn to apply theories in practice with diverse learners through culturally responsive tutoring approaches and gain experience with both in-person and online tutoring modalities.
