It explores the dynamic interactions between natural and human systems within the coastal zone, addressing topics such as the physical and biological characteristics of beaches, anthropogenic impacts on ecosystems, and coastal development challenges. Through case studies, guest lectures, and discussion, students will engage with diverse perspectives on California beach culture and sustainability.
